Whether Tampa would consider this would depend on how Foote does this season, whether he's asking for a laughable amount on his next deal(Tampa isn't paying him close to 2.5), how much Hoglander would be looking for, and Tampa's confidence level in their other young RD in the system(Perbix and Thompson). In a vacuum, the value isn't far off, but in terms of positional need it may not work.

If Vancouver can find a decent top 4 RD through trade or ufa, they certainly are a contender imo. The F group seems strong and Demko is a top tier net minder. If they can address tbe defense, which they could do via trading one of Horvat or Garland for potential quicker help, or by signing someone like Severson, they have at least a 3 or 4 year window where they could contend. The core is there, so it seemed to make sense to keep Miller(on a good value deal no less), to try and go for it now.
