Description
Lundkvist would give us a top 4 potential D who could be a top 4 by seasons end.
the rumor is NYR want a top 6 potential forward preferably C/RW and Robins would be in that range. Maybe more a middle 6 than top 6 guy but has plenty of skill.

merkley is looking like a bust but should get a chance this year and next to prove himself, after that I think Laroque will be pushing himself into the NHL roster.
the rest of the deals are done to acquire picks and ensure we tank the 2nd half and get a top 3 pick.

Is NYR OK with that deal or does there need to be something added?

Another wildcard is Meier, if he is not going to sign long term we need to trade him, if he is willing to resign then we need to get that done.

Just assuming Karlsson and or Couture wind up with season ending injuries, cause yea thats not a crazy assumption and their vacansies from the lineup ensure a better overall pick for the draft.

both barely above leauge min with megna being under leauge min next year and both are solid depth with nieto being one of the best PL guys in the leauge.

You are right in line with Nils Lundkvist and trading for young center depth The Rangers are cap strapped and have lots of talent coming up, so beyond Nils being added to a blockbuster, they will be looking to add a younger prospect. The Rangers also did not have a first-rounder this year so a replacement in their prospect pool would be a fit. The Sharks had two center picks this year in the same range that Nils was drafted in Bystedt and Lund. Bystedt seems like the better fit given his style of play and what the Rangers have for other center prospects. Would you be willing to swap one of them?

both adds would either replace an injured player or push a guy who is waiver exempt back down to the ahl.
just ideas really and all deals are team TBD really just moving players who don’t fit our long term plans so we can bring up the kids

Lund is really intriguing not sold on Byfield but i wana give him a year. robins was a 2nd rounder, I think Gushin, Robins and Weisblatt would be the 3 i would consider moving, but honestly i really like Gushin and Robins and see both as plus middle 6 guys with Gushin having potential to maybe be a mid level 1st line guy. Weisblatt looks like a middle 6 / bottom 6 energy guy with offensive upside Coe Bordeleau and Eklund are non starters, would also consider Gregor but i don’t think NYR would.

All three (Gushchin, Robins, and Weisblatt) have possibilities, it just depends if the Rangers talent evaluators think it is fair value. I think the Rangers would only trade him for a true center prospect with a high upside. The other factor is that Gallant has said Lundkvist is in an open competition on the left side third line with Jones, Robertson, and Hájek and Schneider set on the right side. The issue is that his agent Claude Lemieux is none too happy that he would have to switch to his off-side, but the Rangers will probably see how camp goes unless they get a deal that is in line with organizational needs.

TB doesn't have waiver exempt guys who will be up so that's eliminated . So unless there are injuries it won't happen

In your scenario, wouldn't Coe be 2 RW and Kunin 4 RW?

coe is very young and can play 4RW to start and move up Kunin is more established so unless he sucks i would keep him higher, for now at least.
