Ducks arent paying anything for a guy that wouldnt even make their NHL team

And Douglas will never be a meaningful NHLer

Paying to move a guy you can bury for free
Paying to move a top 4 rhd even though you got ltir that would cover him
Oh and now the leafs cant bank cap space for the deadline

Are we talking about Holl or Douglas? Personally, I would do this deal to get Douglass, dude is 6'9" 240lbs, he would be a crushing4th liner. its a 6th round pick, who cares.

Holl is also better than people give him credit for. Is he bad? Yes. But he's also better than some 3rd pairing D that make a LOT more money than him.

Holl best case is the Ducks seventh D, he wont play over Klingberg/Drysdale/Shattenkirk, and for a 7th D I feel like they roll all 3 of Mahura, Benoit, Vaak so their isnt really a spot for him

Being a season ticket holder for the Spitfires, I dont see any way Douglas becomes even a serviceable 4th liner, Ive seen him play alot and he does not have an NHL game.

No reason to pay even a 7th for that from an ANA perspective, throw in a late pick for some good old FC's from ANA and i'd bite

This deal helps the Leafs, doesnt really help the Ducks

He may be not terrible, but the Ducks already have our 3 RD for the season, so he would probably get waived by us to send down to the AHL unless he is kept on as our 7th D. We also know Toronto is in a cap situation, so no one is going to make it easy for them to offload.

I suspect what they are going to do is claim that Sandin is holding out on contract negotiations, then when there is an injury that gets on LTIR, suddenly Sandin decides to sign. He misses camp and part of the season, but Toronto gets to keep him.
