Chicago would do it and flip Nylander at the trade deadline with 50% retention on him too for the equivalent of a couple more firsts.

can you do double retention in the trade machine?
If so 2024 1st+2nd+Knies+Niemela+Kerfoot for Kane at 50% with Chi and to a 3rd team SDA+2025 1st to retain half of 5.25

Its your opinion but I think Chicago don’t realy care about Nylander. Its only for the cap space and for sure a good value but He is not enough.

if its doable Kane@ 2.625 fits and leaves just enough meat on the bone to resign Sandin. I would play Kane at 1 LW

The first deal is essentially taking your 3.5 Kerfoot and 2.0 Holl to balance Kane 50% salary. Both Kerfoot and and Holl could be used this season to improve their stock for contending teams, and then flipped at the deadline (not a guarantee, but plausible). Knies is a big time prospect CHI hopes will be a feature for years. One first is equipped for value, the other for retention.

Second deal is Muzzin for Kane 50% contract. Topi and Hiro give CHI two solid prospects (not as high value as Knies but I do like Topi and think he is a future NHL top 4). Same idea applies with the two draft picks.

- Highly unlikely as NMC and NTCs are a thing, but just in terms of value. I also agree that Muzzin is not an ideal target for most teams in the NHL.

Matthews Kane Marner Nylander JT Bunting is a scary top 6. Not exactly built for playoff hockey (Kane is) but damn would it be electric.
