this is under the assumption its Leafs or no one so they take the best they can get, with that in mind I was being quite generous

However, funny coincidence, I just went to twitter to see if their were any recent "Kane to Toronto" rumours, and I think I found your twitter account by accident while scrolling through my search :tonguewink
Anyway it will be interesting if it happens but we shall see.</div></div>
I guess I am stuck to the idea of Kane and Marner playing together. I remember Kane with the Knights and how Marner was the next Kane. Imagine Kane-Matthews-Marner then Bunting-Tavares-Nylander or swap Kane and Bunting to have 2 legit 1st lines. Kane-Tavares-Nylander would be an amazing 2nd line.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>cnick19</b></div><div>For what its worth, the reason I traded Kerf in the first place is his cap is ~about the same~ as Foligno's and he expires after this year. Meaning that, in addition to the assets you acquire for Foligno, you also get a guy to fill a middle/top 6 forward slot for a year and 3.5 Mill in space going forward after this year. Ik you'd have to then find someone to replace those minutes for equivalent or less money after this year but it seems like a helpful move for Minny's cap nonetheless.</div></div>
I still think the Leafs and Hawks are up to something
Sandin+Knies+Kerfoot+1st to CHI

the 7th from ANA is actually half of Kanes 525
For clarity, ANA is involved to eat half of 50% of Kane
I chose Ana due to the Leafs and Ducks have trade history but L.A may also fit the bill

can you do double retention in the trade machine?
If so 2024 1st+2nd+Knies+Niemela+Kerfoot for Kane at 50% with Chi and to a 3rd team SDA+2025 1st to retain half of 5.25

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MoreHitzSeider</b></div><div>Mrazek will be harder to trade than you want to admit. Not impossible though.</div></div>
difficult, yes. There will be options. Usually the Leafs will go after a guy on LTIR who's contract isn't insured. That way a smaller market owner at least gets a player for his $
For instance say Ottawa's Matt Murry's injury is way worse than we think and his career is over and Ottawa didn't insure the contract. We trade Mrazek straight up for Murry, put him on permanent LTIR and pay him off the cap.

So when you signing Pietrangelo with all this cap space? I heard for weeks how it was inevitable
I'd say it's ironic to have a Leafs fan laugh at another hockey fan but you are almost a cliche.</div></div>

Dermott is not a cap dump hahahahaha ,Johnsson in this climate has little value maybe a 3rd but Dermott's value is slightly more than a 2nd alone but not a 1st so Dermott+Johnsson for 2 2nd's is fair value. Hell even for 1 2nd I would do it just to clear cap space.

Spending any amount of money on Cody Ceci with enough D already under contract and trading away Dermott in the process who could be had for less money.
Burying Robertson on the 4th line with a defensive centre that has no offensive ability at all.
Trading a decent 3C at good value and term and putting ALL of your centre depth at risk by hoping that Spezza can stay healthy.
Still no cap space.
I suppose I could go on but I'm gonna stop there.</div></div>
all true, what would you do so we can keep our top guys, get a serviceable RHD and stay under 81.5?
I really really don't like the idea of trading any of our top guys
