Description

Is this better than what Army did? I know it's a little easier to pick and choose once everything has played out, but for a lowkey offseason I feel like he missed the mark. Starting with Perron walking if he only asked for 2 yrs. Ended up with a worse contract for Leddy instead. Mikkola money was too much, I would've let him walk and gone after Sandin. Greiss hasn't been good at all; Lindgren earned a shot. I don't mind the Acciari and Leivo signings, not a bad way to fill out the depth.

I think it's better, of course. I think selling high on Barbashev is the right thing to do if you keep Perron. I like Stastny. I like Sandin a lot too, but I don't know that Toronto does that trade.

Sure but based on other cap moves this offseason it would cost assets to move Marco. So is the cost to keep Niko worth it if you have to shed a pick or two with Marco? IMO no, esp if you were bringing in another guy to be a full time player, like Sandin here.

I think if Scandella was moveable they would have moved him this offseason rather than be set to roll with 8 defensemen like they are now. Half the teams are within a league min contract of the cap, let alone Scandella-sized cap space, no one needs help reaching the cap floor. It's not really a choice between him and Mikkola. Scandella's just stuck.
