Comtois is the type of player Verbeek wants here in Anaheim so it makes no sense for him to trade him away while his value is so down

Robertson is the opposite of the player model Verbeek wants to bring in plus I don’t think he will ever be anything special at all — I’m ready for the triggered Leafs after that take

Sandin hasn't been anything overly special.

Not only is Schneider ahead of schedule, but having him for 2 more years of his ELC (during this Cap crunch) is worth more than any of the extras offered in the proposal.

Rangers will stick with what they have.

Can't see the Rangers doing that. Schneider looks good. I remember that draft. I thought Toronto should take Schneider. Dubie chose Amirov instead. He's had a tough time. I hope he's doing well. 🙂

Comtois is better than Robertson now and has a higher ceiling. Take Muzzin out and this deal would be the standard bad quantity-for-quality trade. Add in the defect of the pointless (because he won't be part of the rebuilt team) and burdensome (expensive and uncompensated) Muzzin acquisition and it becomes truly awful.

-I can't see the Rangers doing this. Schneider is their own guy and him being on an ELC is crucial for a team that's in their own cap crunch. I do think the value is right, and I wouldn't say it's an unrealistic proposal, I just think the Rangers aren't going to look to make that type of deal. Could be wrong though.

-Max Comtois is coming off a bad season, I can't see Verbeek moving him now when his value is at its lowest. Robertson is also tough to peg as a top prospect until he shows he can stay healthy, and throwing in a ton of mid-round picks isn't enough to offset the value of taking on Jake Muzzin's cap dump here. Anaheim passes.

-Tough for me to see Arizona being all that excited about this package - Knies and a future 1st are fine, Kokkonen isn't a very strong prospect, and Kerfoot doesn't fit at all - the best they can hope for is getting to retain on his salary at the deadline and hoping they can get good value for him. I think they'd rather take a 2nd rounder over Kerfoot - that's probably his ceiling as a deadline chip, and this way they don't have to worry about him getting hurt or underperforming and tanking his trade value.
