Boston is over the cap already, can’t add more. BOSTON HAS NO INTEREST AT ALL IN LOOCH.

Please stop the Looch to Boston 💩

Foligno has a 16 team NTC. He’s not going anywhere. He’s virtually untradeable unless he’s willing. I doubt western Canada is on his wish list.

Boston is not giving up another 1st to dump bad cap, just to take on more bad cap.

The only way Boston takes Looch is in a deal that gets them under the cap and they are paid to do it. This does neither.

Also, Boston has 5 left shot D with NHL contracts. Need to trade at least one. WTF they need another one for?

Too much going on here and no way Philly uses 2/3 retention slots on players that aren't even on their team

If you read the description you would see PHI was eating $2M of the Lucic cap hit. You already have too many skaters on the active roster so no one would need replaced and you'd end up literally only adding $100k worth of cap. Adjust PHI's retention by $100k if you want who cares.

The Lucic rumours are real whether you like them or not.

The 1st isn't for a Cap dump---it's for Kylington. A 24 year old top-4Dman under very cheap cap hit for at least 2 more seasons. He outscored every single one of your "5 left shot Dmen" last year. He's better than Hampus Lindholm at this point in their respective careers. He's better than Mike Reilly and he's much, much better than Derek Forbort. He's also capable of playing the right side if needed until McAvoy comes back from LTIR.

If you think Oliver Kylington isn't worth what should be a late-ish 1st rd pick +, you are out to lunch

Complexity of a deal is a pretty poor reason not to do it.

Who do they need those retention slots for? Maybe Sanheim if they can't extend him. There's one. No one is taking JvR even with retention. Acting as a broker and using those retentions for only one season gets them a 1st, a 3rd, Valimaki and Steen for Konecny.

They can get that return without retaining by just trading Konecny.

Why would no one take JVR at 3.5 or 1.75M? I would imagine he would have quite a few suitors at the deadline

The Looch rumors are not real. Stop believing everything you read on Facebook.

A local writer who loves ex-Boston players, especially Looch, and is part moron, saw that Looch was at Rasks wedding and wrote “maybe they could bring him back”. That was it. He has a subscription site that most of the followers are the angry, hate everything the org does, nostalgic type. He plays to them. There is no interest at all from the org.

On your scenario Boston is sending out 3.8 and taking on 5.2. Math is hard I guess. So Boston has gone from 2.2 over the cap with 24 players to 3.6 over the cap with 24 players. You have made it worse for them and harder to fix the issue.

Boston has 8 defenseman under NHL contract. 2 will be out to start the season. They will go with the other 6 and recall Achan to be the 7th. Had they been in full health they would have traded Reilly on draft day as they have to many D. Under your scenario with everyone healthy Boston has 9 NHL d men on the roster, none are waiver exempt. That’s a problem. So is trying to trade away players in season and dump cap.

Boston has zero interest in Looch and does not a need a defenseman. Only way they trade a 1st is for long term center. Still over the cap.

As posted above. So bad for Boston. The only aspect that makes any sense at all is dumping Foligno, which if they could have they would have already. In a nutshell - Boston trades 1st and Frederic, 2 pieces they need, for Chilly, who they don’t need, in order to swap cap dumps and add to the cap. Nah.

Here is the one scenario where Looch to Boston works…sort of:

Craig Smith and Mike Reilly to Calgary. Looch 50% retained, Ruzicka, Valimaki, 2nd to Boston.

Calgary adds 2m to the cap. Debatable wether they have upgraded their lineup. Probably not.

Boston has almost gotten under the cap. They dump Looch or Foligno (50% retained) to the first team that would take one for future considerations. Definitely have not upgraded their lineup.

There's a rumors about Lucic going back to Boston? If the source of this rumor is Jimmy Murphy then its not a rumor.....its him throwing some **** against the wall to try and get subscribers for BHN.
