Well, they are $3M over the cap with moving him, so, unless they want to forfeit games and picks, they have to figure that out. I know the forfeiting games wouldnt hurt to bad in a tank for Bedard race with CHI, however, you violate the cap and you lose picks as well.

If Monahan returns fully healthy this year, this is a brutal deal to dump his cap, I agree. Kadri isnt playing with Mackinnon and Makar anymore.

An 'I'm fine to play' from Price puts Montreal in cap dumping mode. Two 3rds is a pretty good deal. And still 2.3 mil over the cap and a max of 5.07 mil in bonuses. Only about 2 mil realistic.
