Beating up on Montreal don't hard either but Leafs struggled with that. Hyman did not play with McDavid all year? Again you struggle to be right with every statement, hyman played more time with Matthews then he did with McDavid, but yet he put up more points this year. You can't deny the fact that he's played much better in Edmonton, and was a beast in the playoffs for us. You hate to deny the fact that he had a really good playoff run with Edmonton and couldn do a thing with the Leafs in playoffs.

Oh you mean the team that swept the team that swept you? Typical Oiler fan response. Your chirp, chirps you worse than it does the Leafs.

Show me where I was bragging?

The Oilers are so good for winning a round right? Yeah because beating the Kings is such an accomplishment. Calgary is a chronic no show in the playoffs and you beat them, good for you. How did you fare against Colorado again.

we got swept? doesn't bother me that much tbh, Colorado was complete powerhouse and everyone knows that. They stomped the back to back champs with ease lol. Edmonton got stronger over the offseason and the avs got weaker in some spots (still an outstanding team). I like our odds against them if we meet in the WCF, I've accepted we got swept, it really doesn't bother me. Winning a round definitely helps keeping a franchise player, giving them hope and confidence for the next year around, something I highly doubt Matthews has going into his 7th season (making the playoffs each year), but still failing to go anywhere. All its gonna take is one more first round exit and he walks.
Colorado also proved they can win a cup with subpar goaltending, that's all Edmonton needs, you're forgetting mike smith was 40.. Calgary was also a solid team, and Edmonton had all odds against them in that series and stomped them in 5.

you're completely delusional (like most leaf fans) if you think the leaf's are going from 6 years of first round exits to an immediate cup

Edit: you're also the same guy that posted a trade saying Kerfoot, Robertson, and a first would get miller at 50%..

Winning in 6 against a Lightning team that had half their roster playing injured is hardly "Spanking" the defending champs. Beating a team in 4 straight is spanking them.

lmao, every team has injuries in the playoffs, terrible excuse, Avs had a massive list of injuries, as does every team. Also thanks for proving my point, we beat the flames 4 straight. You continue to amaze me with your petty excuses

The Flames weren't a good team. They just looked good because the Pacific is terrible. LA would have been far from making the playoffs in the east. Calgary and Edmonton would have been wildcard teams in the east and would have got crushed by either Florida or Carolina. But please keep telling me how amazing it is to beat the Kings and Flames.

A win is a win, no? Put the oilers here, or here, or here. You're forgetting you lost to the 2022 draft lottery champs, the leafs can't beat a team of any caliber and are a regular season team. have a good day baby boy

And hanging the hat on beating teams that wouldn't make the playoffs outside of the Pacific again eh? It'll be funny to hear your excuses after once again getting totally destroyed by the first good team out face. That is if you make the playoffs which isn't a given.

Huge words coming from a fanbase hanging their hats on beating the powerhouse LA Kings who wouldn't have come close to making the playoffs anywhere but the Pacific and then beating the forever no shows in the playoffs the Flames. What happened when you actually played a good team? Oh year Colorado embarrassed you.

I will say, the Oilers did make a couple of decent moves but you still will live and die off McDavid. He goes down long term, I am not sure you'll make the playoffs. Downright poor defense and your bottom 6 is still well below average. Campbell definitely won't be as good as you hope he will be. TO was the 4th or 5th best team in the league last year and did it with the 27th ranked goaltending.

Ahhhahhahahah Do you even watch the Oilers?
Down to McDavid eh?
We had crappy goaltending and still did well.
McDavid
Draisaitl
Hyman
Kane
Nuge
Yamamoto
JP
McLeod
Holloway
What were you saying about bellow average and all up to McDavid????

Nurse/Bouchard
Kulak/Ceci
Broberg/Barrie
Niemeläinen
I am totally fine with our D the way it sits.

We have the same team as last year except adding a goalie. So what "Moves" have we made?

Soup just has to be average.
Smith in Net
Game 1 .760
Game 2 .900
Game 3 .929
Game 4 .857
That is a .861 average, which is worse than an AHL goalie

A decent goalie would have made a big difference.
But I bet you don't recall how bad the Oilers goaltending was?

They are moving him because they want to make room for Sandin. That in no way makes him and AHL player especially for a team with perhaps the 2nd weakest right defence in the league. Only Vancouver has a worse right side.

So we should run into the exact same problem as the leafs and get Holl so Broberg doesnt play. Yah that makes a ton of sense?????

Lol, Holl is so much better than Ceci and I would rather have Holl over Barrie as well. Even Bouchard hasn't impressed that much. Holl could likely be your top RD. You're funny

AHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHH that is so funny. Keep him. No interest in your worst D and AHL defenseman.

I just checked - Leafs are 13-2-2 vs oil incl 8-1 in ACC West; ouch . Maybe if we played in your powder puff division, it would be easier to get out of first round. But last I checked you’ve won as many cups as we have since McD / Matt, so no worries.

Yup maybe you would. But you dont.
And the cup champion is from the west.

Look I know exactly how you operate sir. You are on here each year claiming every Oiler is going to have career years. Your 3rd liners are all better than anyone else and every year you have the same issues. No depth scoring, poor defence and bad goaltending. This season will be a bit better but you're defence sucks, your goaltending is super thin.

This is so ridiculous. A guy who often plays top 4 and 20+ minutes a game making 2 million on a team that is and has been for the past several seasons, better than Edmonton, is an AHL player. How does that work out eh? Two guys who weren't good enough to keep in TO are your hope and dream? Hilarious

They didn't go on a run. They won the Pacific and got crushed once they played an actual playoff worthy team. It'll happen again and again.
