You didn't take into account we have Oskar Lindbolm, Nick Cousins, Scott Laughton also competing for NHL spots. The D trades are kind of parallel moves but to give up Provy wouldn't make sense he is a top 4 d-man and could be a lot better considering that was his rookie season. I don't think we would take the risk nor would I want to. To move Simmonds we would need a much much larger return, he's led the team in goals, and over the last couple of seasons only a few players in the league have more goals than him. Regardless of who we have Filppula will not play 1st line winger, I think we use some combo of Lindbolm, Konecky, Weal there.

I would only do the Josi trade, and draft Hischier so he can play on the wing with Scheen as a center, so you keep Provorov instead of Fowler. But anyway i don't think that Nashville would accept that deal

Why would you trade one of your most promising young defenseman to get Patrick when you're already getting the number 2 pick. The flyers need help on defense not as much with the offense. NSH wouldn't trade Josi either.
