why are rangers fans so damn insistent on trading high tier prospects and 1st round picks for rentals we have no chance to resign...

Rangers 100% are a playoff team, but these also are not high tier prospects and the 1st will be very late. Hawks accept here, probably, but this is a solid deal for both sides overall

Right? High tier prospects who gets traded in nearly every damn Rangers ACGM lmao.

In my opinion a Kane trade is like this:
- 1-2 first rounders
- top prospect
- roster player
- 50% RS
- second rounder
- possibly an additional fourth or fifth

In the minds of Rags fans, the fact that he was in a few trade rumors on the TDL means he needs to be dumped as soon as possible with no forethought. Lundkvist is actually a really good prospect, he played amazing hockey in the SHL, and became better over time in the NHL and AHL. It's just tricky to acclimatize to the smaller rinks if you're coming straight from Europe, especially for defensemen. Kravtsov, in Rangers fans minds, is also kind of the odd man out in the forward group, but after losing Copp and Vatrano, he is almost essential, especially if Blais and Chytil leave this year. We can't rely on prospects like Othmann and Cuylle coming in, because they might not work out.

I'd rather just keep Kravtsov, who does have top 6 potential, and Lundkvist, who is better than a lot of Rangers fans say, than trade for a rental we have no shot at keeping.
