So you sign Kaut Maltsev Bowers and Ranta to extensions have Olausson and Meyers and then promptly block all of them by signing Janmark, Donskoi, Hathaway and NAK. That doesn’t make any sense.

I agree but lundell is barkov2.0 and those dont grow on trees also. Plus he’s a ufa in a year. You dont move a player like that for a soon to be free gamer.

Still not worth it. You can have bennett and other assets for girard but lundell won’t ever be traded unless it’s the same type of player coming back.

Wait; why would you trade a player for the same type of player? You trade for need and FLA needs a 1D; Girard is a good piece but isn't a 1D. A 1D for a 2C is pretty fair value, the age and cost discrepancy notwithstanding. That being said, I totally understand why you wouldn't want to trade Lundell for Toews but, IMO, the value is pretty much there.

It’s not there though. Lundell has so much more upside where towes as great as he is, is exactly what he’s gonna stay. And what if he isn’t great with ekblad and regresses some where ones he’s playing more like a second pair d man. Doubtful I agree but possible. Where lundell is 20 already great defensively and helps carry a line abs can only grow. Where bennett is at his top. He’s Not getting better with the panthers. He’ll always be a 2c where lundell is a 2c already which is why he can be expendable. So a bennett for girard makes more sense
