Why would we not want him? Could you imagine what he would put up points wise on this team?

he would put up points, but we already have one of the best forward groups, I just don't think it would make sense, his dzone would do more harm then good as well

Who cares? His job is to score and he gets over a ppg on a mediocre team. He’d be an easy yes for Holland.

I would care, defense is just as important as offence. You're giving up our best defensive forward, for a guy that plays virtually no D. Scoring goals is great, but beating teams 6-5 every night probably isn't.

Championships are won with well balanced rosters. If the Oilers are going to make a big splash, it should be in an effort to seriously upgrade the blue line, or build a dominant group of bottom six forwards.

We won 5 cups with offence and stellar goaltending. Campbell is a serious upgrade over what we’ve had in net.

Why are you so stuck in the old head ways of "run and gun, old tough boy hockey" look at the all smaller, smarter faster players becoming stars in the league today Makar, Hughes bro's, Gaudreau, zuccarello, marchard and Debrincat
Hockey is evolving just like every other major sport every few decades, Hockey is no where near the same as it was in the 80's when edmonton got their cups. Pick any players in the league today and send him back in time and watch him put up 150 PTS with ease. Get with the times or get left behind

You can't just run and gun every game hoping to out score everyone, look how far that got us vs the AVS we need more Defensive minded D-man and Wingers like ashton-resse or evan rodrigues our Offensive fire power is already top 3 in the league we just need to start shutting teams down and actually play defense to get to that next level

Campbell represents an opportunity for very good goaltending on a consistent basis, something the tandem of Smith and Koskinen were unable to provide. That should translate to more wins, but it does not necessarily translate to a Stanley Cup.

I played the game, I’ve coached the game, and I’ve been a fan of it for nearly 60 years. You kids have been fed a bunch of crap about how much the game has changed. A lot of things have changed for sure but the puck still goes in the net and counts for a goal as it did a 100 years ago. The idea that the 80s were “run and gun” is also nonsense. Whatever fancy numbers you read they can’t replace the fundamentals of the game. A team that takes care of the puck and creates turnovers is always going to have a chance to win it all. That’s been true and it will continue to be true.

It does make the team better and we don’t need to ship off Barrie like this guy wants to do
