Given the Leafs D depth, I can see keeping Holl as a real option, but moving Kerfoot seems inevitable.

I am not sure Roberston is ready, but taking a flier on a UFA certainly a possibility. Simply put, the Leafs have the depth at the forward position to use call ups to fill holes (Steeves, Abruzeese, Clifford......).

Also a possibility Järnkrok plays LW on the 2nd line - a scenario I do not like at all, but, certainly a possibility

Overall, this lineup isn't that far off-base.

Oh I see kerfoot as likely moving. Just doesn't seem worth it to keep Simmonds in the lineup and carry Clifford on the bench

Oh I agree.

The organization depth at forward is great. Use callups to fill holes..... not like Steeves or Abruzesse won't be heavily considered in 2023-24 if they continue to progress.

Carrying an extra D on the bench makes way more sense.

I too would prefer to keep Kerfoot. His versatility is quite useful. Abruzesse to me seems like the most likely to push for a regular spot this season. I thought he didn’t look too out of place in his limited action.

Although I personally believe he is not an NHLer I would like to see Robertson given a fair shake in the top 6. I would prefer him to be on a a line with Tavares and Marner. Reunite Matthews and Nylander. Save the Marner Matthews connection until absolutely needed. Matthews can drive his own line. Tavares lights it up with Marner. Robertson would be sheltered a bit more with Tavares digging and Marner passing.

My feelings as well. Roberston in my view is top 6 or bust. The game is there - but as this roster is constructed I don't see the fit right now.

Yes, Abruzesse is going to make a string argument, but he is a guy I want marinating with the Marlies so he gets real ice time to round out his game. Same with Steeves. Both could be the nucleus of a new 3rd line in 23-24; and I don't think that is a stretch.

I'm not sure why people are so down on Robertson. I think people think he is further along in his development because he had a call up at the end of his first draft +1. He was the youngest guy in his draft class and like a few days shy of being the following year.

If you look at high end forward prospects in those two drafts about half haven't become NHL regulars yet. He's demolished junior and is ppg in AHL and is not yet 21. He seems on path to be a good nhler

To me the way the roster is built we should have a sheltered scoring bottom six line. Shutdown line with Kampf. Other scores. No need for useless "energy" line. A robertson-Kerfoot-Aube-Kubel 4th line for example could do well and shows how he can fit in bottom 6.
