I can not see Boston giving up Carlo and a 1rst if they be in full rebuild mode after this next season.

I am just trying to be objective in that Allvin appears to be sleeping this offseason and unable to make a hockey trade after him and Rutherford talked about big changes to the Canucks.

Atleast Jim Benning was willing to make some Canucks hockey trades.

I disagree and think Meyers is easily worth a 2nd round pick for 2 more years of Meyers and especially if the Canucks are retaining $3,000,000.......Ottawa also is shopping for another quality defenceman like Meyers as they now want to be competitive and win and surround their young stars with some solid veterans like Meyers.

Agree......This is the Bruins last season to go all in.......but they have a lot of players out till XMas and think they should have just started the rebuild this season.

Meyers actually played quite well for the Canucks last year and I watched him in action in a lot of games as I live on the Westcoast.

Benning did make some garbage trades but also did make some good trades like the Pearson and Miller trades.

Benning's biggest mistake as GM of the Canucks was not doing a full rebuild with the Canucks........instead he tried to retool the Canucks on the fly which was crazy........and set the team back more years.....I think Trevor Linden disagreed with this retool strategy and was pushing for a rebuild and then resigned as team president after Benning and Canucks owner wanted to go with the retool strategy.

Not giving up 5 years of Carlo’s prime for 1 year of JT. Even with a reasonable extension it makes little sense.

With Mac on the shelf til December trading Carlo would leave the RD depth chart in shambles. Connor Clifton, Connor Carrick, Kai Wissman would be top 3. Think that’s a good idea? And no we don’t want Myers or Poolman coming back either. Dumb Sweeney’s solution would be to sign PK Subban. Ugh.

Only way they should even consider moving Carlo is if a top 6 center under 25 under team control is coming back. Even then they still shouldn’t.
