Lol when’s the last time a coach demanded for a young player to be traded? Hoglander isn’t a bad player or person, stop shouting

Boudreau has hinted this last season that Hoglander needs to learn how to play defence in the NHL so I do not think he is one of the coach's favourites.

The Canucks need to unload him before his value drops more like Miller.......Canucks need bigger forwards and are too small in size with both Hoglander and Garland in the lineup.

Boudreau said he needs to work on defense. Don’t you think as a coach, Boudreau should be the one helping Hoglander to improve? What kind of nonsense logic is that. If a player needs to get better, the coach is supposed to help them get better, not request them to get traded….

You and I both know that the Canucks presently have a problem as they are carrying 14 NHL forwards assuming Lockwood is now also an NHL forward...........Something has to give.

Hoglander is not going to play on the Canucks first or second line and he certainly will not be playing on the Canucks 3rd line which is going to be their shutdown line and I just do not see him as a 4th line energy type of forward like Lockwood, Lazar or Dakota so I think he is going to get moved out before the season starts.

If we have too many forwards, why are you trading him for Fabian Lysell? He’s also a winger and less developed than Hoglander. How does this help us???

The Canucks screwed up Hoglander's player development by signing him and starting him imediately on the NHL team instead of apprenticing in the AHL for a year........I actually could not believe at the time that the Canucks then actually had Hoglander playing on the first and second line as a rookie in the NHL.

Hoglander should have been slow cooked in the AHL for a year and learned how to play defence and kill penalities.........Now you have an under-sized player on the Canucks who does not know how to play defence or kill penalities.......There is no room for players like him who are not producing offensively in NHL and can not play defence.

This helps us because Lysell is a great NHL prospect off the Vancouver Giants who the Canucks can assign to the Abbotsford Canucks to supervise his development and slow cook him for a year or two in the AHL and then bring him up when he is NHL ready.......which is what should have been done with Hoglander and Virtanen.

Stand Pat Allvin and Rutherford are going to put alot of resources into the Canucks player development and specifically the Abbotsford Canucks which is going to pay dividends in the future.

The Canucks have done a really bad job on player development and developing their own prospects.........DiPetrio is another classic example of a player who was not developed properly by the Canucks.

He is 21 years old lmao. He has A LOT of time to improve and grow. You think every 21 year old is going to amazing at defense? You do realize that Hoglander was very good defensively in his first season. You’re overreacting a lot. He had a sophomore slump. Big deal….

lysell is 5'10" like 175lbs. Also B's wouldnt move him for Hoglander, just doesnt make a ton of sense for them.
