Description
It's kinda comical that the worst guy at the dot is Kampf...who's pretty darn good.

Also, for the haters...after TOR wins the cup...the 32nd pick in the draft isn't all that special...It'll be a HECK of a lot more than a 1st round pick for just Kane retained.

Chicago gets AZ to retain 50%. CHI pays for that extra costs...whatever that may be. It shouldn't be too high considering it's only $1.45M in cash...TOTAL.

I remember the first time I tried marijuana. Thankfully I didn’t own a computer much less have internet when it happened.

soooooo we're just going to forget about Sandin? a 21 man roster with 200k in capspace isnt too bright either.

Not really part of the post, but Dubas will figure it out. Just seeing if the trade could fit.

I know it's not realistic. Not likely either of them waive to go to TOR.

Also you’re missing maybe 70% of the assets it would take to aquire them

It is delusional to think that this is even close to a fair trade. And why is Chicago the team who pays for salary retention? I know there are haters out there, but I am pretty sure most of them were borne from homers who create completely lopsized and ridicuous trades like this one.

What would you do to adjust the trade? I'm open.

    1. Toronto pays for salary retention, not Chicago
    2. Remove Kerfoot and Holl from the trade, 2 players that are of little use to Chicago, and are as much a cap dump for Toronto as anything
    3. Add 2024 first round pick
    4. Add in young defenseman of Chicago's choice between Sandin, Lily, Topi

This is much closer to a balanced trade. Chicago fans could probably chime in here and give their thoughts. this would be the foundation of the trade. Smaller parts may be required to fine tune.

I'm all for it. I'm a CHI fan that's just tired of TOR crazies spewing out hate toward other players because they don't have a Leaf on the front of their jersey. Looks like I yielded to much and I appreciate the honest feedback. The Kerfoot/Holl is needed for Cap to work.

I think either would waive to give to Toronto, why not? We are One of many legit Stanley cup contenders…maybe Kane would prefer to stay in USA, but he could play with his buddy Matthews. Toews is Canadian so np and oilers or leafs are only real contenders (maybe flames but iffy). Trading for both is unrealistic. There would have to be retention in both Chicago & 3rd party (NO contending team can fit a $10.5M cap hit) and salary going back . What about Kerfoot + prospect (could be Sandin, but no one else from roster) + 1st? Does Chicago no good to keep these guys & IF they want out, team should honour their request given all they have achieved.

I mean to your point, the closest team to Buffalo...that isn't Buffalo...is Toronto. So maybe Kaner would waive. I'm not aware of he and Matthews being that close. I'm sure there's a professional friendship. I don't know. BUT with that said, he is really good friends Panarin. So, with full NMC I was thinking he might force something to the Rangers specifically.

I'm all for exploring different ideas. To me, this is a HUGE move. If you want a "Summer of Kawhi" I'm not sure it gets any bigger than this. a 3rd party is 100% a requirement and both the Hawks and that 3rd party would need to retain 50%. That's how I got the cap hits to be $2.625M. Also 100% agree that Toews/Kane should go to whatever team they want. They've earned it.
