PLD may be perfectly happy signing a long term contract in a big market like the Rangers. Schneider, Kaako and Chytil would look good in Winnipeg

All I am saying is that if you want a big 1C you can't offer up a bunch of magic beans which is what Dvorak, Norlinder et al. Jets gave up Laine, a number 2 ovr all and Roslovic, another first rounder, for PLD. Jets want some real substance not a basket overflowing with players the Habs want to get rid of for PLD.

Yeah and in same time Jets want to get off Laine because he was problematic and became a distraction for the team. The fact Dubois and is agent have been published saying they want to be UFA in 2 year and would love to play with MTL remove some leverage from Jets GM.

No team would pay high price for Dubois knowing he will be out after two years. The best thing mtl can do right now is just wait two years and they could get Dubois for free.

I also think Dubois would want to play with Anderson so that could be a motivation to Dubois to push for MTL trade.
