Campbell isn’t signing that. I think Murray trade is good. So many leafs fans undervaluing Murray like can be on the leafs retained for future considerations. With more and more goalies leaving the market I will have to say the leafs will have to overpay for Murray.

you’re forgetting that the Sens were getting the 16th overall pick back in the Buffalo trade. so it’s to move back in the 1st round. so to make this deal similar to that, the Sens would need to get a 1st round pick back as well, just presumably a later one. especially if the Sens are retaining 50%, rather than 25% like in the Buffalo trade. the package going back to Ottawa there isn’t even close

Honestly, it would be pointless to sign him for that long if they have Murray anyways, sure they gained an asset in the first (Muzzin won't be going to Chicago) but that won't do much for them. if they go sign an okay goalie in fa like comrie that would make more sense than signing campbell after acquiring murray. The savings could be used to bolster the RD in some way perhaps, but I'm sure Dubas would be going from pieces that OTT has that they can use directly unless it's a blockbuster 3-way and not just a 3rd team retaining.
