Kane would have a lot more fun playing in New Jersey that's for sure. Mine as well have us retain 1/2, I'm sure our GM would take just the 1st given his track record

If Kane gets traded, he'll go to wherever he wants to go and CHI will take whatever they can get. I wouldn't expect that place to be NJ.

Kane isn't going to do Davidson any favours by going to the top bidder.

Team still misses the playoffs

I mean, I think the process would go more in the direction of Kane gives 3 places where he would be okay going and that determines the rest of it. Probably not going to be much of a bidding war with only 3 contenders, but either way. I wouldn't expect more than a 1st and mid tier prospect if they retained, which would probably be a little less than they got for Debrincat.

With Kane half retained, they can make another good move and this team is on the fringes as is. With another move, could be a playoff team no problem.
