7th overall plus another pick in the top 50 this year isn’t a bad place to start. Boucher didn’t have a great year but he was still 10th overall last year. Package could definitely be improved but I think the more thats added, the more Ottawa needs to question the fit with Sandy and Chabot already on the left.

Not a good excuse for Boucher. Dude was projected late 3rd round. Just because you draft a bust in the top 10 doesn't mean he should be valued as such. While AZ is getting 7, they're also taking on multiple years of Zaitsev, and again, Boucher who has no real value. Prospects wise, Arizona would be more interested in a Pinto, Greig, JBD

Im not making excuses. Simply pointing out that was still where he was picked. Multiple sources came out and said that he would’ve went in the 1st if Ottawa had passed. If he came out and had a good season, like Chinakov the year before, we couldn’t be talking about this.

If you dont think AZ would be willing to eat Zaitsev, I think they would, then take him out. Subtracting dron postions of weakness (Greig C, Pinto C, JBD RD) to add to a strength (LD) doesn’t make sense. But regardless, again, 7th and 39th isn’t a bad place to start.
