Doesn't make sense for the Panthers to take Tyson Barrie back - they're only saving $500K this year then ($5M Bob retention + $4.5M for Barrie). Their cap crunch is at its worst this year because of the Scott Darling & Keith Yandle buyouts before getting much more manageable next summer, so I can't see them taking back current salary if they're retaining on Bob.

Isles are filled with quality depth wingers - can't see them adding another one with a $2.75M cap hit without sending some other money out. They should be focusing on using their picks and cap space towards LD2 and a scoring winger, not guys like Foegele.

There is a huge difference. Did LA just pay the wild for a cap dump? Just because a player gets moved for Salary relates reasons doesn't define cap dump. Dead or near dead cap is a cap dump.

I’d personally call Fiala more of a cap casualty. This is more of getting whatever you can for a guy and cutting your losses imo
