Every team has 25 forwards better than Kerfoot! Every team has a 50 point (all at evens) forward who can play anywhere in the lineup, kill penalties and all 3 forward positions. He is so much garbage

Besides, Devils have too many middle six forwards as is and are looking to move one out.
If Devils are looking for improvement at their top six, they'd just try for any of the numerous options available in FA (Nichushkin, Burakovsky, Marchment etc).
Also, they'd sooner swing a trade for a (better) player under team control in Puljujärvi than trading for Kerfoot.

Exactly everyone is better than Kerfoot. They all score more points, are better defensively and more versatile. He's so much garbage, so bad that it makes more sense to pay some FA 5+ million to do what Kerfoot does at 3.5 because there isn't a salary cap so value doesn't matter. Strome is the exact top 6 guy the leafs don't need. They need guys to go get the puck and bang some bodies. Who gets the puck on the 2nd line, Tavares is to slow on a forecheck and Marner isn't going in hard and physical on the defense. Strome had 11 hits last season, if Dubas signs him he should be fired.

Sure, I don't buy it but whatever you say bud. I think the Devil's are going to move on from Blackwood who now looks like a mid 20's below average backup. Half his career in the NHL has been below average. Sure injuries have played a role but considering how everyone on here says Mrazek is going to cost a 1st dump after an injury plagued season, how can you rationally explain why it's different for a guy who while younger, has way less of a track record and his only good play seems to be an outlier rather than the norm. Would I take a chance on him? Yeah maybe, if he was super cheap to acquire but apparently New Jersey wants want crazy good assets for him. They will be left wanting.

Ur trading two skilled forwards that the devils have plenty of for a gritty forward that the devils need and a tendy that the devils need. This trade benefits Toronto in every way shape and form and provides the devils with more of the same while taking away necessary pieces.
