Not looking at the talent in the offer but the money...I don't think Vancouver can afford to retain so anything given for JT Miller's retention should probably be taken out of the deal and offered to a team that isn't 'Cap strapped' or at the max of their internal budget. Seattle comes to mind for instance.

In Ottawa's case, it could be Pinto, Thomson, and the 39th. That's not an unreasonable ask for a Top-10 scorer. Not saying Ottawa would or should do that, just using it as an example of what Vancouver feels Miller is worth.
