Hall is arguably the best player drafted his year while Tavares is not.
And just who exactly is better than Tavares from his draft year? Hedman? O'Reilly?
That's seems a stretch to say in the least. Hedman may have a couple Cups and O'Reilly one, but that is offset by Tavares' sheer domination as the best player from his draft by total points, PPG, accolades and the like.
Tavares would still likely go 1st OVA in a redraft today. Hedman, 2nd. O'Reilly, 3rd.
Meanwhile one could argue that Tyler Seguin is better than Hall overall from the 2010 draft. Saying Hall is the best player from his draft is debatable.
Seguin probably goes first overall over Hall during a redraft right now.
Tavares is clearly the better player over Hall for their total careers. Again, Tavares has Hall beat in Goals, Assists, Points, and PPG. That should count for something. Especially given the fact it's by a rather large degree.
