Lol, they will probably be looking to acquire a late first for Killorn if anything.

Killorn still has value, despite his playoff play. And Thomas is nowhere close to being a top 6 player on a cup contending team. And no chance Palat signs for that

If Tampa or Toronto are moving/might move a guy for cap issues or flexibility, you can expect that they are being traded with a sweetner by someone on here, regardless of their market value. If the are an elite player but perhaps viewed as expandable by the user, then he might not require a sweetner to trade but will be traded for a lackluster value.

Tb doesn't need to do a F---ing thing to ice a 22 man cap compliant cup contender so this they have no leverage BS is just that BS!!!! if they don't get better keep him and go for it but thuinking Killorn costs at all to move is the dumbest idea I've ever heard

I would accept that offer as the Los Angeles GM. I'd be so embarrassed I'd be reluctant to show my face in public for a month, but I'd accept it.

I know that. If they move him, it's just for cap flexibility and to be able to retain Palat. If they lose Palat, it's not like they are going to miss the playoffs.

GMs did try to get JBB when he was in a cap crunch, and he told Kucherov to take his time instead of getting fleeced. To expect JBB to get fleeced now when his team is will be cap compliant doesn't make any sense. That being said not every ACGM is supposed to be realistic or reflect what the real GMs would do. A lot of the time it's what the fans would want (sometimes I forget that).

I don't know why the OP thought to package a first with Killorn though even if he thought to add a sweetner.

and if you look at Killorns playoff analytics they really aren't bad he just could score at the bunny ranch with the way things were going for him

LA doesn't have any cap space. They're already over the cap now once all their RFAs extend.

They could move some of them for assets though, they are RFAs after all.

i pray Palat signs that cheap i really do!! but in reality is he really going to take a paycut after his play it's atleast 5+ in TB 6+ elsewher minimum 4 years term

Unless they're moving Kempe, there's no combination of RFAs they could move to fit Killorn under the cap and still ice a 23 man roster. Kempe will be less expensive than Killorn and is just as good, not to mention 7 years younger.

Yeah, I think TB would give him max term for a lower AAV, that along with the tax situation would probably only end up in him taking a small cut, since I doubt the teams that have a similar tax situation would be giving him term and money.

They might still move Kempe since he would be getting a big return. I think his projected expectation is actually 5-6m or might have been his ask. So he's probably going to end up being around the same as Killorn not cheaper (next year that is, I don't expect them to necessarily extend Killorn). As for the age difference, Kempe would probably be traded for someone who is younger and picks, so that won't be an issue really.

There are players with term too who could be moved instead.

For one season. But what is Killorn's extension going to look like? The Kings aren't going to move to an asset that is expected to sign a long term deal to make room for a guy that is leaving next summer.

The only other player the Kings can move to fit Killorn is Iafallo, and I'd argue that Iafallo brings more to the team for his money than Killorn would.

I don't think the Kings will be trading for him but was just saying on paper it could work not that it is necessarily even a fit.
