Rather have Severson over TDA.
Rather the Devils just trade Tatar with 50% retention for Bear.

Signing Niederreiter is a good shout however.

I really don’t think that the Canes would do that. Necas would have to be pried out of Carolina. Severson would be a downgrade from TDA, and as it stands, Sharangovich is a slight upgrade over Necas, but I think Necas tips the scales back in his favor next season. Then there is Tatar half retained and a second. I don’t really mind a Tatar half retained for Bear swap. Overall, it’s really Sharangovich and a 2nd for Necas. That’s not exactly an offer that will blow the Canes away. Personall, in my opinion, the Devils either don’t have the pieces or are unwilling to trade the pieces that would even remotely interest the Canes. Sharangovich would be of interest, but I can’t see the Canes trading Necas for him. Then there is Bratt, Holtz, and Siegenthaler, which the Devils won’t trade.

For the Canes to move Necas, I would expect them to move him in a package for players like Bratt, Pastrnak, DeBrincat, or even Nylander. The only player on the Devils roster I can see the Canes moving Necas for is Bratt (outside of the untouchables or players who play a position of strength for the Canes like Hischier and Mercer). The Devils are unwilling to trade Bratt, so trying to make a deal is futile.
