Détails additionnels:
I took mayfield to replace burns and clutterbuck to help them with their cap for taking on burns. Plus I’ve seen reports of them looking to move clutterbuck anyway
NYI
  1. Burns, Brent (4 000 000 $ retained)
Détails additionnels:
Burns is overpaid but he still puts up points. This last season he put up 54 it doesn’t have to be the islanders but If the sharks are able to get anything for him that’s a win even with half retention.

Reimer can help Blackwood split games as a backup and give the devils a more competent goalie tandem. Assuming they don’t give up on Blackwood and move him.

I'd be very down for this if they swing and miss on Campbell.

the sharks are in such a weird position. Almost none of their players are worth anything more than a 2nd. Their good players make so much money their contracts are so hard to move.

The Islanders just extended Cal Clutterbuck, where did you see they're trying to trade him? Stop listening to that source because they are woefully inaccurate.

Why would the Islanders make this trade? They get vastly older, and more expensive to fill a position they're already deep in (RHD)? There's little chance these players get traded and none that the Islanders target Burns.

I'd like to see the Clutterbuck reports because he literally just signed a 2 year extension to stay

The Sharks lose the Islands/Devil's trades pretty badly, and this doesn't really start a rebuild. Meier is one of the only players on the roster that is still young enough to justify keeping, dumping him for a 1st in the middle/end of the draft isn't even likely to produce a player as good as he is.

I briefly saw it from Sheng Peng I never said it had to be the islanders my point is as long as they can sweet talk a team into getting a second for him that’s great but either way burns is an upgrade over mayfield regardless

Not taking team needs, age, or contract into consideration, Burns is better than Mayfield right now. I promise that Mayfield would garner more in trade than Burns, even at 50% retention. Much more, without question.

Sharks get kinda screwed in the Burns and Reimer trades. You’re right to trade them both but the value coming back isn’t great and there are probably better suitors than NYI and NJD.

I'm just curious, what do you expect to get back from trading Burns? To start, he has a 3 team trade list, so you're already limited. I imagine he isn't waiving for a rebuilding team, so that removes anyone who would make a trade to reach the salary floor making this a cap for cap trade.

To preface things, despite his age, Burns is still very much a positive impact player. If on a bad Sharks team you can expect at least 45-50 point production, on a good team i think he would be even better. That’s not to say he doesn’t have some flaws but the issue just comes down to cost.

With no retention, (assuming his NTC isn’t an issue), I wouldn’t expect a huge haul. Maybe like a 3rd or 4th or something. But the more another team expects SJ to retain, the more the price goes up. Asking the Sharks to retain $12M would probably cost at least a 2nd and good prospect or 1st and change.
