I wouldn't pay a 2nd for Walker. He's not that great defensively, he's showing some signs that he's prone to injury, and he's essentially a 3rd pairing guy. He's pretty similar to Jacob Bryson for the Sabres and i doubt anyone would pay a 2nd for him.

Fine. That makes Iafallo only >>> the unsigned Johnson.

My point is that Iafallo for Johnson and the future (not current) second is a joke, and adding Walker makes the joke even sillier.

I never said the trade itself was balanced. Simply pointing out that Walker is not worth a 2nd that is potentially near the top of the round in a draft that is widely to be considered very deep.

I think that you're mistaken in the second half of that sentence. We're close to all in now, but we're looking for a #1 LD like Chychrun, Provorov, Sanheim or Sergachev, so we'll probably have to trade Iafallo as a cap move and maybe Walker, too. In fact, that package for the Florida first and Ryan Johnson's signing rights would be an acceptable deal for Los Angeles. Iafallo immediately becomes Buffalo's best 200-foot forward and Walker fills the open third slot at RD.

If you need to create cap, I am sure you could send those guys in the Chychrun trade.. no need to make an extra move.

The only reason LA potentially wanted Johnson was to reunite the Minnesota pair and give Faber an extra incentive to sign in LA. Now that Faber is no longer in the organization, LA's no longer interested.

The Kings aren't looking to trade Iafallo. If any team wants to pry him away, it will cost a 1st and a B prospect. If you just see him as a "middle six forward" than you haven't watched him play enough.

Value might be a little light due to the next year vs this year’s 2nd (could be swapped) but, I don’t think Iafallo has 1st plus B prospect value since that is only slight less than what Fiala got to come be a 1st line winger. I view him as a 2nd + and Walker as a late 3rd/high 4th due to the injury. Johnson’s value is a 2nd (if he doesn’t sign the team holding him gets a 2nd but his Dad does work for LA…). So the package is essentially two 2nds with no cap to LA so they can go sign or trade for a Veteran LD.

Walker isn't a guy we should be going after, and we are pretty good on wingers too. The value may be off, but there's no reason at all to be paying a premium on those players.
