There isn’t any reason for COL to do that. That trade basically is one year of Sanheim, a d prospect that isn’t anything special, and an AHL dman for the 5 premium years (24-29) of a puck moving dman on a sweetheart deal. I mean not to be mean but that is just awful. If COL moves Girard they will want immediate help in the form of a similar type production forward who is on a good contract and cost controlled (relatively) for a similar amount of time. Plenty of deals out there centered around guys like that in Necas, Sharangovich, Beauviller, Bennett. This is a very easy no.
