Toronto is a destination for players. I dont see any way they risk that by trading amirov rn. Also his value took a hit so from a pure asset management standpoint it doesnt make sense.

What’s the high end piece they’re looking for? I don’t think Robertson or late firsts fit that bill. I don’t think the offer is terrible (although Amirov in there is awful and Mrazek for a different reason lessens the value), but I just think if they’re moving Cat you need a big future piece instead of a few nice future pieces.

Yeah that’s probably fair value but also depends on what CHI is looking for. An offer from the Devils around 2OA or Mercer might be more enticing even if there are less pieces to it for example.

And good point on another high cost forward, especially when you’re gonna have to give him a massive deal in a year. They can get creative and make it work but they’d probably have to ship out pieces they don’t want to.
