Sharks don’t even consider. SJ knows how bad Oilers want Kane and will use that to their advantage. Oilers are simply not a contender without Kane.

I don't think you are necessarily wrong but you forget how badly the Sharks don't want Kane to come back either. I'm not an expert on SJ at all but just looking at their cap situation, if they have to take on Kanes 7 million a year I think they will need to get rid of him this summer to make it work.

I also don't know how many other teams really want Kane so their options to get rid of him might be limited. As far as I've read (so obviously there could be more) the only other team interested in Kane at the time was Washington so the trade market for him might be limited.

The sharks want a manageable cap more than they want to get rid of Kane. There are far more moving pieces here than you are taking into consideration. These oilers offers are pure delusion.
