Not true at all, he's essentially a smaller version of Copp, a versatile player who can play up and down the line and can get you 40-50 pts.

Why sign Paul when you have Kampf for 3C?

Doesn't make sense to bury Kampf on the 4th line, you can just get a solid 4C (Blackwell wasn't too bad) and let the AHL guys compete for that spot as well. Then you wouldn't have to worry with extending Bunting who will probably be at least 3m.

Copp is (imo) a better center than Kerfoot, and I doubt either player reaches 50 pts again without elite linemates like they had this season (Tavares/Nylander, Scheifele/Ehlers and Panarin/Strome). Other than that, you're about right.

I see people throwing 5m+ at Copp, so it's pretty safe to say Kerfoot is worth his 3.5m and probably will get a raise next year in FA. Kerfoot will probably still produce 40pts since that's all he did in Colorado. I'm going to go out on a limb and say Copp is probably better defensively and Kerfoot is better offensively or at least has the better track record.
