Why isn’t Spence higher ? He was basically almost a point per game in the AHL in his first year at 20 years old

Main reason is Durzi has a similar toolkit but has 3" on him and more NHL experience. But that's not a knock on Spence at all, he has a great set of skills, just the guys above him are that good.

It will be interesting to see how much progress Fa-gem-o, Pinelli and Chromiak make this season.

I'd include Kasper Simontaival in Tier 5 just in the interest of thoroughness.

He spent half the year rehabbing an injury.

I look at the LA prospect depth and find it so hilarious that people are trying to make an argument that the Jackets are too overstocked and need to consider trading away their 1sts this year for players approaching 30 so they can push for playoffs. If I had the chance to build a prospect pool anything close to this I absolutely keep every high pick I can get my hands on to make it happen.

I'd argue some of these guys have left prospect status though. Byfield, Bjornfot, Kaliyev, Kupari and Vilardi all have seasons with 40+ games played now. I'd say they've all graduated except maybe Vilardi who took a step back in NHL games from 2020-21 to 2021-22.

I think because of their ELC statuses, JAD should be the only one this year seeing significant ice time in the NHL of the tier 4 guys.

Simontaival is in a tier 6 with Dudas imo. Too many tiers lol.
