Description
Original trade offer I pulled from another ACGM. Credit to editor9999 for the idea.

Original offer was:
To CAR: DeBrincat (50% retained)
To CHI: R. Suzuki, J. Drury, 2023 1st round pick, 2024 first round pick, and 2024 3rd round pick.

Me personally, I doubt that with retention that is enough, but the asking price was equivalent to the original asking price for Eichel, which was the comparable trade I would have used anyway. I don’t think Suzuki would interest Chicago that much with the injury that he sustained.

As for the signings, I have a feeling people will take these as controversial things. TDA has to keep rebuilding his image, and if he burns his bridge with Carolina, it will be hard for him to get another spot in the NHL. Someone would eventually come calling if they are desperate enough, see Kane to Edmonton. TDA takes a discount in hopes of a big payday for his next contract. Nino takes a discount more than like, but can be offered up to a 4x4. I got the 3.5mil as a contract comparable to Kerfoot. Necas takes a bridge deal, Gurianov deal as comparable. Trocheck resigns for unfinished business. Let the kids run with the 3rd pairing, but have Smith on standby just in case things don’t really work out. Chatfield, Kochetkov, Gunler, and Rees are first call ups.

Bear for a second or a third rounder, I don’t care about arguing about the value on that.

Thoughts?

Détails additionnels:
Swapping out Suzuki with Honka is a better move in my opinion value wise. Suzuki was a former 1st round pick, but his value has fallen since he had an eye injury. Honka is a quality offensive minded RHD who is coming along really well over in Liiga. Honka probably makes the jump to NA in the next 2 years, so his timeline would fit pretty well with Chicago’s rebuild.

Bokk is just a toss in. Another former first round pick, but he hasn’t panned out in the way the Canes expected. His chances of making the NHL are slim at this point, but he could still end up being a really good AHL piece. A change of scenery could definitely help him.

    Détails additionnels:
2 smaller prospects and a low round draft pick to dump Gardiner. Assuming Gardiner has a good year offensively, he can be shipped out at the deadline for a decent return. Trade comparable is the Ghost dump to Arizona, with the key difference being term remaining. Ghost had 2 years and about 500k more whereas Gardiner would only have the 1 year with the 500k less. Canes want to move prospects instead of picks. Inamoto is a decent defensive minded dman with good passing abilities. Slepets is a very underrated offensive RW who should make the jump to the AHL this year or next year.

I would love for this to happen but don’t think it will.

I think Necas and Morrow probably need to be included for Cat. Necas morrow 1st and a 2nd is where I’d land but another team could beat the quality there too.

Nino doesn’t take that much of a discount. I think he’ll get at least 4.5. Tda probably wants a 1 or 5+ year deal to get to ufa sooner or get some security. Maybe 1x4.5?

I think that Troch deal is actually close but when you factor in some of the price increases not sure they can do it.

At the most Carolina gets a late round pick. Teams know that Carolina doesn’t want him anymore so they will just wait until he’s a UFA when Carolina doesn’t give him a qualifying offer.

Genuinely unhinged of you to try and get Cat half-retained without even offering Necas.

If a GM pays a 2nd for Bear they need to be fired.

Think it came from a Chicago post originally but agree that Necas should be included

uh wut? You know a 2nd rounder only have a 25% chance to playing as many as Bear has already. 2nd rounders dont hold near the value people push around here.

Well then by that logic Patrik Nemeth should be worth a 2nd also, I mean look how many games he's played.

Ability? Guys a 3rd pairing Dman who was healthy scratched multiple times this season and was outright terrible for stretches. Being carried by Slavin in half your games doesn't make you a good Dman. Nice fallacy though.

someone has zero information about Bear or his injury situation before making such comments. try educating yourself.

He had long term Covid effects that slowed down after a very good start. Then after getting back up to speed suffered a foot injury that slowed him back down. He had surgery on it. Canes went with the healthier Smith because of it in the playoffs. Bear also has some very nice ratings on Evolving Hockey despite have stretches of bad play due to his health.

Canes still prefer to keep him and just may. But paying a 2nd rounder as a firing offense is very laughable. move on troll.

You can't get Cat without giving up something of serious value, for CAR it would need to be Necas + Morrow + 1st just to open talks and with other teams interest will probably need to be more again.

2021-Jul-28 Ethan Bear traded from Edmonton Oilers to Carolina Hurricanes for Warren Foegele.
Foegele would not make the Sabre line up.
    $2,750,000 until 2023-24 (UFA)
    37 Warren Foegele L 82 12 14 26 26/82 = 0.317
    72 Tage Thompson R 78 38 30 68
    53 Jeff Skinner L 80 33 30 63 63/80 = 0.788
    71 Victor Olofsson L 72 20 29 49 49/72 = 0.681
    21 Kyle Okposo R 74 21 24 45 45/74 =0.608
    24 Dylan Cozens C 79 13 25
    89 Alex Tuch R 50 12 26 38 38/50 = 0.760
    74 Rasmus Asplund C 80 8 19 27 27/80 = 0.338
    29 Vinny Hinostroza C 62 13 12 25 25/62 = 0.403
    19 Peyton Krebs 1 C 48 7 15 22
    37 Casey Mittelstadt C 40 6 13 19
    28 Zemgus Girgensons L 56 10 8 18 18/56 = 0.321

Which one of those four LW do you see Warren replacing.
Every one has more pp/g than he and he is paid much more than Girgensons or Asplund.
He does not PK so he is not going to usurp Girgensons nor Asplund.
He does not score well so he is not going to knock out Olofsson nor Skinner.
He does not play center so he will not replace Thompson, Krebs, Cozens nor Mittelstadt.
Maybe you think you can squeeze him someplace among Tuch, Hinostroza or Okposo, but with Quinn doing well in the AHL, he will not play RW either.

If Foegele cannot find a spot in the Buffalo line up I doubt Bear could either.
So if Bear was traded for Foegele they should have about the same value, a fourth round pick.

I assure you Jason Karmanos WILL NOT GIVE UP A FOURTH ROUND PICK FOR BEAR.

Cool, dont care. I didn’t say it would be Buffalo. Warren Foegele has 0 to do with this conversation. Just because Edmonton traded at that eval doesn’t mean eval is still comparable. RHD have more value than Lw.

    Enjoy Skinner though. Lol
