Interesting return for Nyquist. I imagine Columbus would be trading Pearson immediately. What kind of return is he worth at 50% retained?

Can we please stop with the awful Miller trades to the Devils?

Devils are likely extending Severson so not expected to trade him and not likely to move their 2nd overall pick nor likely to pay for a rental nor add another small skilled winger nor trade their best face-off guy.

Other than that, looks good.

I'd rather keep Nyquist. Woo's at a position of need but I'm not convinced he's worth it, and I think Nyquist in the meantime is doing an admirable job of leadership on and off the ice w/r/t teaching our kids how to play to win, alongside Voracek. I know on paper he looks like the odd man out, but I really do think he's got extra value to us beyond that.

I agree. This would be an interesting TDL package to get for him though if Jarmo decides to move on or Nyquist prices himself out of Columbus in extension talks. Would be a different pick at that point though.

An extended Miller would provide much more value in the next 5 years than Severson. While the 2nd overall is steep, the player picked likely isn't going to be a superstar so I don't actually think the difference between Miller +15 OA and Severson + 2OA is very significant one way or another, although I think Miller is a significantly more valuable player than Severson.

After reading Jfresh's valuation of Miller at Holtz, Graves, Zacha and a 3rd from NJ I figured this was close.

I also see Hoglander to have a much greater ceiling than McLeod and the 2nd reflects that.

In terms of likelihood, you are correct but that's not really the fun of the site.

Whether Severson is valued above Miller for one year or not, Devils would be extending Severson and not likely to extend Miller.

I think Miller ultimately goes to NYI. Severson stays out.
bdb a aimé ceci.

Canucks ain't doing that trade for a rental, and Jett Woo shouldn't be in it either
