I have to imagine the Rangers would do everything in their power to prevent this from happening.

I get the point, Rangers have the prospects/picks to do it, Islanders/Pens, not so much.

The thing is Kane I’d probably a rental if he goes to the rangers due to all the contracts they have to give out to miller, laf, chytil, kaako, Schneider ect. Sure one or two of those guys would be heading to Chicago but still.

Pitt could give Kane more money in an extension based on the team I have built here next summer Pitt will have 22 million for Kane, Jarry, Blueger, Zohorna, Dumoulin and O’Connor. This leaves 9 or 10 million for Kane. We could give him 3X8, which is something the rangers couldn’t do - that would be a part of the trade

That's fair, lots of possibilities based on all the speculation, not much is concrete with him yet though. I'm hoping it's all over with before the draft.

think that's it to get kane half retained as well? Penguins have one of the weakest prospect banks to give stuff up from too

I know DeBrincat's likely getting moved 1st, if he goes the dominoes will fall quickly. Toews has already come out and said he's thought of what it would be like playing for another team. Kane wants to be a hawks but also knows it's a business, he's watched all his favorite teammates get traded over the years and a reunion with Panarin on a young team makes too much sense.

Personally, I can't imagine either player sticking around for this dumpster fire team's rebuild for 3-5 years. They both deserve better.

I don’t think that’s enough for ANA to take on Zucker’s contract

Contract is only 1 year and Anaheim needs to reach the cap floor. Plus zucker is a good player when healthy

LOVE this team but for 1 small thing...lose Slewban, he's done. I'd be perfectly comfortable with Ruh in that spot and Friedman as #7. Plus that gives us plenty of cap room come trade deadline day if we think we can go far in the playoffs. We could add a huge rental if we chose to.

Fs I just thought he could be a good mentor for POJ who has struggled to get to the NHL

There are many teams that would gladly trade away a cap dump to help ANA reach the floor. They can get a better return than a 4th for doing so elsewhere. That’s really not much of an incentive. To top it, it’s not just cap, but lot of actually salary owed too, which ANA doesn’t have in abundance

That makes sense. Being in NY I've seen a lot of PK with NJ and he's fallen off a cliff bad now. If we're going to get a mentor for POJ, I'd honestly try to bring in some other vet D for a year at 2 million less similar to Boyle up front. Actually first thing I'd try is to talk Gonchar into coming back to coach the D. He did a damn good job with the last 2 Cup teams, including the miracle one without Letang.
