Yeah with guys like Gaudreau and forsberg available i feel like Guentzel for Cooley isn’t too bad. We need some type of prospects on this team desperately and PITTSBURGH LEGEND Logan Cooley in the draft I think you gotta pull the trigger on a deal like that

This roster shows the value of the ELC here. Having Guentzel in this lineup removes Cooley and likely one of those top UFA signings in this build, and keeping that from happening is also very valuable

Obviously having guentzel removes forsberg. Forsberg is guentzels replacement.

I have no problem with the DET trade, except that we need to send some F's back. We already have a ton of bottom 6 guys and this adds 2 more.

Letang could be the casualty as well, plus the signing rights to another roster player in Pavel Zacha. That chaos is valuable to a team retooling
