Very reasonable offer for talbot. Leafs would be foolish to not at least consider it.

I could see Toronto considering that move if they strike out on some other options, but I doubt it would be their go-to. Not bad value just kind of underwhelming.

Would you just do Talbot and a mid round pick (not in the top 100) for Zacha? I feel like he may fetch a little more, but his value has been fluctuating a lot from what it seems recently

I mean I would for sure. I wasn’t sure if NJ wanted Talbot tbh.

I would have done more for Dumba but it only works if Petry is moved

I have a hard time valuing Dumba tbh, I don’t expect much for him.

Isn't the point of moving Fiala or Dumba that you could keep the other one? I feel like if they move both and only really bring in Zacha it would be hugely disappointing

Not necessarily no. They’re letting Dumba walk after the season so this would be a way to capitalize now as opposed to getting nothing for him. Our C depth was exposed badly vs the Blues. We won’t make it out of the first round with the same group of C’s (plus Rossi).

Don't get me wrong Zacha is a fine player but if you think paying him 4m will fix your center depth, idk what to tell you

Ryan Hartman was 1C and Freddie G was 2C for us last season. Zacha presents a definite upgrade. His projected salary is based on models. He made over 3 mil last year.

Let's do a hypothetical here. Let's just say you did know what to tell him....what would you think it would be?

Thanks! And Gauthier or if BG isn’t worried about having two small C’s then Savoie

Yeah I can't see Savoie with Rossi and Marat coming right behind him in a few years

I tend to think the same way. Gauthier seems like the main target, nice big C.

Essentially when it comes to goaltending in NJ, the best way to look at it is like this: if they are a warm body who is not Andrew Hammond, Jon Gillies, or a comparable goalie, and they can actually play at the NHL level, it’s an improvement in Jersey 😂

Haha! Well, if MN re-signs MAF, Talbot will most likely be available for cheap.

Is Wallstedt expected to go right to a backup role like that, or take some time in the minors?

Jesper will be in the AHL all season this year, most likely, barring injuries. That’s what Russo has been speculating at least. We’d sign a cheap backup to MAF is my guess. Or trade for one.

May I suggest any goalie not named Andrew Hammond or Jon Gillies? 🤣
