The defence is an issue right now. If you can buy low on Fiala , you do it . But this team isn’t at a point where they should be trading any core players especially not Drysdale

Verbeek isn't saying it but Drysdale doesn't seem to fit the mold of a core Dman he'd want to build around, if he can get a player of DeBrincat or Pasta for Drysdale, I think Verbeek would listen.

Plus add in Zellweger looking really good in the CHL last year, I think he's gonna be right there with Drysdale, and I don't see Verbeek wanting 2 undersized Dmen as his core young Dmen.

Drysdale is a non-starter, Ducks instantly reject as soon as his name is brought up

Gibson is worth more to ANA than that

Fiala trade is fine though

This defence is already weak. They need to get tougher and build around Drysdale but you’re talking about a 20 year old Dman lol

I’m in a fantasy league by the way and I’m Anaheim. I’m building them pretty nicely right now . It’s my first year

Can’t see Minnesota accepting that Fiala trade.

All depends on what other teams offer, no one really knows what hes gonna get moved for

MIN might have to take an offer they dont love

I dont see the Ducks offer more than that, if it doesnt get him oh well we're about a year away from trading our top assets for a guy like that

Nah, even if that’s the only offer Minnesota should walk away from trading Fiala and you trade someone else.

MIN might not have a choice, the Suter and Parise buyouts cripple them cap-wise

They could trade Dumba for a draft pick and your whole point falls apart. And I love when other teams’ fans try to explain to Minnesota fans their own situation. Priceless.

Also, the buyouts are not the reason we’re in cap hell. We were in cap hell regardless of if they were bought out or not. And if they were traded and then retired, the cap recapture penalties were far worse.

MN does not have to trade Fiala for a bad deal. If he’s gonna sell low on a guy, he’ll do it for Dumba and bring Fiala back for another year. When you start doing bad deals you get a reputation for doing that (Murray?). BG has held firm on his ask for Dumba for 2+ years but I imagine he’d lower that ask before giving Fiala away. It’s just took risky to not get enough in return for Fiala. Giving Dumba away though? Creates cap space and brings back a fan favorite (Fiala) for another season.

I think this is spot on. I just don’t think it makes sense for the ducks to give up anything more than this except maybe adding Steel and/or a 2nd/3rd. I’d rather just see Fiala go elsewhere where there’s a better fit. Ducks need more time

Don’t need to get all bent out of shape because I stated the obvious. Nobody on this site knows what he is going to be moved for.

They could do a lot of different things this offseason so could every team.

Wasn’t trying to explain any situation to you but take all the offense you need to 😂

Doesn’t take a genius to see the cap hell Minny is in

Not to mention Dumba probably walks in a year anyways. Maybe it’s best to get a late 1st for him and hope Addison is 50% of the player he is at 1/6th the cap.

Absolutely! It just doesn’t makes sense for BG to give Fiala away when he has another clear path to creating cap space and that players replacement already in the wings.
