You seem like an intelligent one. Still think Caps are gonna sign Campbell for 3.5 mil?

Horrid for Ducks. Kings have lots of centres and LWers. Certainly one year of Kerfoot isn't worth nearly what two years of Roy

I think Toronto adds something like a 2nd rounder to the Anaheim deal to get it done; Nylander > Gibson in value but Comtois >>>> Mrazek.

I also don't know if Gibson is the goalie you'd want to make a big splash like that for - the last 3 seasons he's put up a .904 SV%/3.07 GAA/-19.2 GSAA in Anaheim. For reference, Jack Campbell has put up a .913/2.57/13.2 GSAA in the same time frame. The biggest advantage Gibson has over Campbell is being a workhorse (142 GS for Gibson vs. 95 for Campbell in that time) but if he's not even putting up league average numbers, he's just giving you a ton of mediocrity.

If you're moving Nylander, I think you target something else; I still say the best move in goalie is keeping Jack Campbell.

You again? You believe that using Nylander to unload Mrazek will return the Leafs a 2nd round pick. How could you expect anybody to take you seriously?

As for the Kings trade, that's fair. If you had any sort of reading comprehension, you would see that I also suggested Ethan Bear.

Fair enough. Maybe altering it to leave Comtois out and targeting somebody else in free agency to fill the spot.

I do believe that the Leags are very high on Gibson fwiw.

You again? How can anyone believe such a blatant homer. Non appreciation of teams needs. FYI, there are 31 other teams in the NHL, not just the Leafs.

I just don't see the fit with Gibson. He's only a year and a half younger than Campbell, he's been aggressively mediocre the past 3 seasons, and he's signed for 5 more years at $6.4M. I feel like they could easily get Campbell back in the fold for less money & less term (I think the Robin Lehner 4x$5M deal would be the sweet spot) and get equal or better results *without* moving out a guy like Willie Nylander and opening up a hole in your top 6.

Blatant homer? Leafs give up the best player in the Anaheim trade and I've stated they could leave out Comtois.

I've seen Blues trades where they've dropped Barbashev for Woo and a 2nd. Surely Sandin and a small add tops that package.

You provide zero insight and contstantly try and sh*t on users acgm's. Kick rocks, kid.

There's been some. Doesn't need to be Philly, just looking to acquire a mid/late pick.

I don't disagree at all. My choice would be to re-sign Campbell but it appears there hasn't been any contract talks.

I don't see any better UFA options and bringing in someone like Gibson will mean moving money out and giving good assets. If we trade Nylander elsewhere, we're likely using aquired assets to bring in Gibson anyways 🤷

I'm a firm believer that the Leafs have to trade Nylander with no cap coming back in order to sign a good NHL Campbell. 5.25m Campbell and 1m a year for 4 years buyout of Mrzarek is actually cheaper than Gibson. Now I understand why the Ducks wouldn't want to trade Gibson without a viable # 1 goaltender in place, but agree with you, what's really that special about Gibson?

No matter what adjustment(s) you make, Nylander for Gibson doesn't make sense for Anaheim if your premise is that Gibson is going to provide you at least 4 years (out of his 5 left) of decent goaltending. (If you DON'T accept that, then you wouldn't be trading for him and value would be moot.) Gibson is signed for 5 more years, which matches our opening window of contention. In contrast, Nylander's contract expires just when we'll be (hopefully) making the transition from pretender to contender (we won't be in the playoff hunt this season). Mrazek, by the way, is a cap dump and Comtois is anything but.

Los Angeles is at capacity at center (Kopitar, Danault, Byfield, Kupari, Lizotte and potentially others) and LW (Kempe, Moore, Iafallo, Grundstrom and potentially others), so an expensive 28-year-old rental isn't of any interest to us. Kerfoot is a good player and could benefit other teams, but Los Angeles shouldn't be expending assets on him. And Roy is the last of the four RDs who played for us this past season we'd be trading.
