Nashville Deal I Saw

Description
I don't do these very often, so let the chirping begin.

Saw this trade on another thread (from a NSH fan before I get ripped on), for some reason it's sticking with me.

Moving out Mrazek is the plus.
Trading two 1st round picks isn't ideal, but TOR is only essentially dropping around 10 spots or so in 2023 with the 2nd round pick coming back.

Jeannot at 800k next season is a huge plus.

I don't think NSH takes this, but for some reason I seem to like this deal. This trade was also based on NSH semi tearing it down.

I'd take that deal 10 times out of 10 if I were the Leafs. Their firsts aren't worth a ton because they're late and Jeannot is exactly the type of player they should be looking for. The question is why would Nashville do that?

I don't think they would, but like I said in the description, the other person who posted this trade made it under the assumption that NSH was taking a step back and retooling/rebuilding.

A lot of people on this website are going to look really stupid when Jeannot stops shooting 19%

I agree, it's not sustainable. Also not crazy to think his production could go up if he plays with JT and WN.

Tell me, how does his production go up when he goes from 19% to ~9%?

The dude isn't actually ****ing good lmao
(I'm exaggerating but he's a 3rd liner my man)

I'd expect his shooting % to come down next season, but if he gets some actual PP time, and fewer defensive assignments, he should be able to replicate his point totals from this season.

He's a better player than Bunting. It's not unrealistic to think Jeannot could put up more points than Bunting did, with similar linemates/deployment.

Could be a combination of different factors. Better linemates, PP time, etc. Maybe he shoots more with JT and WN, could still score 25 even if his shooting percentage goes down.

Just spit balling some stuff here that isn't a Mrazek to CHI deal.

Uhh, no he isn't lmao. It isn't close either. Bunting was a driver on a line with AM and MM. Gotta love how people chronically undervalue leafs because of the crest.

Jeannot scored more goals driving a line with Sissons and Trenin, and scoring isn't even the standout aspect of Jeannot's game. His strength and physicality are top of the league. Bunting would have put up a 9 goal, 25 point season, in Jeannot's spot.

I edited the comment see above. Also, 19% s%, it means nothing eval wise.

I have more if you want more head to head. It isn't close

That isn't an argument to disprove anything I've said.
This is an admittance of inherent randomness in hockey. Way to miss the point. Just take the L. TJ is a fine player. Bunting has been excellent and much better. Simple as

It's not an argument to disprove what you've said. It's an admittance by the person who created the spreadsheets you're clinging to that they only tell half the story, when it comes to player analysis. Way to miss the point. Just take the L. Bunting had a fine season. Jeannot was excellent, with lesser linemates and tougher assignments. I feel Jeannot is more likely to replicate and build on this past season than Bunting. Putting you on ignore now, as I now remember our past interactions were equally unproductive and seemed to trigger you as well. Enjoy your evening.

Better linemates can give you better or more opportunities. His shooting % could go down but if he shoots more his goals could go up or with more talented linemates they could cash in on rebounds from his shots.

Literally lmao. This whole response. Sounds like your ignore list is the place to be.

Imagine how full of yourself you have to be to go out of your way to tell someone you're gonna ignore them. I bet you didn't even do it. You're just gonna lurk and seethe
