That package is closer to Stolarz than it is Gibson

To be clear not saying that doesnt get Stolarz if thats how it sounds

Fleury was traded for nothing after winning the Vezina. The goalie market is not what you think

Then we have no reason to trade him plus a Vegas trade doesn’t help your statement because it was for cap reasons

And then Fleury was traded for a 2nd (that upgraded to a 1st if Minny moved on) to get 10-15 games out of him?

I wouldn’t spend a cent for Gibson. He’s been below a .905 save percentage for the last 3 years, and has too much term to spend assets on.

Genuine Question: why does everyone think Gibson has so much value? He was 43rd in save percentage last year, which was the same save percentage he had the two years prior. He had a .001 better save percentage than Koskinnen, who nearly everyone on this site considers a cap dump, except he is signed for longer and for more money.

U do realize that even good goalies struggle when the team in front of them is garbage

Regardless of what we think his true value is,
the Ducks still aren’t gonna “sell low” on him

What makes you (or anyone) think they would?

Gibson has played the 2nd most amount of games and faced the second most amount of shots over the past five season for a bottom 10 team in the league, any goalie would see a dip in numbers with that

And Hellyebuyck is #1 in both those categories and has also seen a dip in his numbers

If Gibson didnt have value he wouldnt be the most traded for player on this site

Ducks have no reason to move him unless they get blown away by an offer, and they surely dont even entertain selling low on him

I don’t think they would, but at the same time, I would not pay for Gibson.

Okay, but Hellyebuk has had a .922, .916, and .910 save percentage the last 3 years, versus a .904, .903, .904 for Gibson. That’s a significant difference. I really don’t see the value for Gibson, I realize his numbers are lower due to a bad defensive team ahead of him, but a goalie making 6.4 mil for the next 5 years should have better numbers than that.

If other teams dont see the value in Gibson then the Ducks keep him and are ecstatic to have him

Only way he gets moved is if Verbeek gets blown away, they arent going to trade just because a team throws a random offer out

And they actually need his salary to hit the cap floor so his contract isnt negative value to ANA

I’m not saying we should trade for him
Just saying that if we do, the Ducks are unlikely to give him up cheap
