I love the idea of getting Hakanpää! He’s a good defensive defence man on a good contract. I’m curious to see if they would do Lindell, Suter, Harley on the left, and Heiskanen, Barrie, Hanley on the right. I doubt they would, but I would love it if we got him!

I THINK they're referring to one of the possible outcomes of Kanes lawsuit with San Jose. 1 possible outcome is Kane wins the grievance and San Jose are responsible for his old contract of 7Mx3 and whatever AAV he earns gets taken off of that. So he can play for 750k in EDM and earn 6.25 in SJ. I can't confirm though I saw a few twitter posts about it. Could be wrong

I see what you are saying, but with all of his financial troubles I doubt he could really afford to do that when he could make 5+ Million on the open market.
