Heh. First of all, Barbashev has had two other seasons with a personal shooting pct. as high or higher. Secondly, this season was also the first time he had real top 9 responsibilities, the first time he had considerable PP time and about 50% above his previous TOI high. It's not like this improvement just came out of nowhere. He's got skill and was finally allowed to use it regularly.

Sanhiem is blossoming into one of the better 2-way D in the league, his hockey IQ has grown tremendously and he is ready to be a top pair D, would probably be top on multiple teams in this league and if he stays in Philly will pass Provorov

If you watch a player like Nurse, you can see all these little mistakes that cost his team greatly, finding himself out of position multiple times a game. This is something Sanhiem doesn’t do. It’s a hard thing to notice because when you’re always in the right position you rarely have to try to make a big defensive play.

Trust me, his value is probably a lot higher than this offer but will most likely go for a package like this because he just really started to sprout.

Yeah, he did have two higher seasons with a higher shooting %, but he also did that in 60 and 20 shots respectively, that's not near the same thing as when you get significantly more.

He will when there's tons of easy chances, like the ones the Blues overpass for. What I'm saying is there's clear development evidence here. He asked for a bigger role than 4th line banger, he got that role and he made the most of it.
