Nucks declined this trade without the 3rd, so lets say the pick brings it across the line, The team is less of the issue so NYR fans I know that I will get the "We dont want Miller, we have Copp" I know. I am just using this as a holding piece. This is more meant for Habs fans.
Ok, Habs fans, congrats on the 1st OA pick.
What would we have to add to upgrade from Lundqvist to Barron?
You guys need a bonified PPQB and that is Lundqvist's specialty at the expense of his Defence.
You guys also have a whole bunch of defensive defensemen on the right side and could use some help moving the puck and could add assets in doing so.
I am not saying that this is all we'll offer, but what would the cost be to exchange defensemen, you also have your own 1st rounder coming up who can be a defensive defenceman
"Nucks declined this trade without the 3rd," Really??? No one (on this site) knows what was offered by either party. And if a one side (Rangers/Canucks) told a reporter about the deal, that doesn't make it true either. Coaches, managers, players, agents tell reporters false information all the time, so it gets reported as a way of gauging sentiment.
I can agree that it would appear that way, but there were serious problems around the team at the start of the year but his back half the year he was on fire
I guess, but we're talking about a comparison of Primeau, who has been lights out lately. No real reason for them to value DiPietro all that highly.

I am a little biased but I think that DiPietro could come out guns blazing next year, hes going to have a stable off season, no flooding and the starter's roll in abbotsford and with the new development system, he will have more time with Ian Clark

if it came out usually there is some merit to it. where there's smoke there's fire. And the point of this post is not on the NYR trade, its on the habs trade
