Leafs Build the Core of a Dynasty

Description
My goal as a non-Leafs fan was to balance out the roster by making it a bit less top heavy and by bringing in players that the Leafs can control for longer. I also tried to improve the team defensively and make sure that they have enough prospects and young players to fill the roster while having a ton of money tied up in to top 3 guys. Since Toronto is a premier free agent destination, I also tried to make some of the contracts expire around the same time, so that a premium free agent could be added to the core in 3 seasons when Tavares comes off the books, or so there was enough cap space to re-sign any of the young players who develop into stars over that time frame.

1.
TOR
  1. Damiani, Riley
  2. Faksa, Radek
Détails additionnels:
Toronto picks up a two-way center to help them improve defensively, along with Dallas' #6 prospect as compensation for the difference in contracts between Faksa and Holl.
DAL
  1. Holl, Justin
Détails additionnels:
Dallas finds a short-term replacement for Klingberg on the roster next summer, slotting Holl in with Suter on its 3rd pair. Moving Faksa and Damiani opens up roster space for Dallas' glut of top prospects at C.
2.
TOR
  1. Dach, Kirby [Droits de RFA]
  2. Dach, Colton
  3. Kubalik, Dominik [Droits de RFA]
Détails additionnels:
Toronto moves Nylander, for 3 talented young players to build a less top heavy roster to stay in contention.
CHI
  1. Nylander, William
Détails additionnels:
Chicago makes a big move to pick up Nylander, to be a big time piece of its future.
3.
TOR
  1. Dorofeyev, Pavel
Détails additionnels:
Toronto picks up a nice prospect, who could be NHL ready by the end of next season, with top-6 potential as a winger.
VGK
  1. Kerfoot, Alexander
Détails additionnels:
Vegas likely loses some key forwards as free agents this summer, so they bring in Kerfoot to play a top 6 role and try to further extend their contention window under new coach Barry Trotz.

The Hawks aren't going remotely close to this trade. Nylander is 2 years from being a UFA. He was a holdout for TOR and we're not giving into his likely insane demands.
Beetlejuice a aimé ceci.

I could see how this trade would be good for the leafs. For a rebuilding Hawks team this trade is so lopsided. No bueno, not even remotely interested. Now you want to package Knies and a couple of first rounders, let’s talk.

Hahaha nooooo. Was definitely not trying to give that impression. He's a cheap replacement of a spot on the roster for next season since Dallas is gonna be short on cap space, not a replacement for talent.

The Chicago trade doesn't make any sense for either team. Leafs get far worse, losing the best player in the trade by a mile while they are in their playoff window. Lol good luck to a Kubalik and JT line. They will never score. He's a good player to have next to JT and Nylander (TDL target), but without Nylander's dynamic offence, it's not working. Chicago on the other hand is literally in the opposite window, so Nylander 2yrs from UFA makes no sense. Either does trading a young player like Dach.

Faksa is a fine player, but the leafs already have a defensive 3C that fills the Faksa role well for half the money. Would make sense to use $3mill cap else where or for more depth signing.

Lastly, I can't think of anything worse than Clifford being the LW for your shutdown line. Or Clifford even playing really.
