I don't think Minnesota wants to trade Dumba. I highly doubt they want Zaitsev. The Senators do not want to trade Pinto, who is expected to be a big part of their team next year. They clearly are dangling their 7th overall because Dorion needs to prove to his stakeholders (players, ownership group, fans) that he can bring the team to the playoffs. Whoever they take at 7th overall might not contribute for 2-3 years, where as Pinto is ready now.

There is zero reason for Mete to be in the trade. The Senators are not qualifying him. He has no value. The Senators may qualify Gaudette, but he also has no value. This trade is overly convoluted. It looks like it has EA NHL 'fill up the trade bar-itis'.

If the Senators want Fiala, it is going to be something around the 7th overall and a few 2nd/3rd round picks/prospects, and maybe a roster player.

As far as Zaitsev goes, I would look to Arizona as a possible landing spot. If I am Arizona, I would take Zaitsev for future considerations, although I'd try to get Ottawa to attach a 2nd or a 3rd round pick to him. He is someone who can play 22+ minutes a night against top competition with rough deployment, but he isn't going to swing games for Arizona. Basically, he is just good (or bad) enough in that role to help them lose, while keeping the coach happy and protecting their younger defensemen from getting shelled. They are going to move Chychrun, so they will need someone to eat minutes. Unlike when Ottawa acquired Zaitsev, he does not have a lot of term left. He only has 2 years left on his contract, which is perfect for Arizona's situation.

I think there is a small chance that there will be a market for Zaitsev now that his term is down to 2 years. Whether or not he is "good at hockey", no one is finding someone who can be deployed like Zaitsev is in free agency while only giving up 2 years of term. There is a major divergence in how Twitter/online advanced stats gurus see matchup defensemen, and how actual hockey GMs see them. Cody Ceci is the greatest example of this. He continues to get paid top 4 money despite the internet claiming he was created in a lab to be the worst defenseman ever. Zaitsev on the trade market might be a similar situation now that his term is down to less than what a free agent would get.
