Zaitsev is a Sen for life !!!!

If the Sens have 8M in cap space, why not just keep Zaitsev and maybe wait out his contract, or move him next year?

Its a question I always ask.

The truth is, getting Zaitsev off the team is an emotional need for many Sens fans

Cuz it is just painful to watch him anymore, he is so atrociously bad. He isn't a NHL level player anymore, and doesn't even use his size to his advantage a lot and being a turnover machine by giving away too many of them. If the Sens wanna get better, getting rid of him is a huge step in the right direction.

Is he available to be sent down to Belleville?

Yeah but firstly, he'll affect the prospects in a bad way (with just the way he plays), secondly Sens want to clear his salary since, it has a signing bonus and Ottawa isn't very fond of signing bonuses and they want to add players but can't with his contract.
